2025 Spring Michou Trunk Show at our Splash location!
Another Michou trunk show is coming to Cape May. Michele Sonner will be back in town May 3rd & 4th and joining us at Splash with her most recent One of a Kind pieces. Mark your calendars now, this is an event not to be missed!
Every trunk show with Michele is unique and we can't wait to see what's she's been working on since we saw her last. With gemstones from around the globe and brand new designs, her trunk shows never cease to amaze.
Michele loves to chat with her collectors and personally style her customers. It's always a treat to have her with us and we hope you're able to join us at Splash for this exciting shopping event!
First and foremost, we hope you and your loved ones are doing well, staying healthy and taking the necessary precautions. To all those battling the illness and those who have lost someone, our hearts go out to you and we offer our deepest sympathies.
It’s hard to believe how quickly and devastatingly this pandemic has taken hold of the country. It’s definitely hit small business like a ton of bricks. We were the first Cape May store to voluntarily close our doors midday on Sunday, March 15th. We had absolutely no idea we would remain closed on May 3rdwith no opening date in sight. We rely on having those doors open; we rely on tourism; we rely on customers; we rely on you.
The one saving grace is that this closure has given us time to work on building and growing our website. More and more products are being loaded daily to make it more representative of the Whale’s Tale and Splash Gallery. From jewelryto cards, ornamentsto puzzles, soapsto home decor, or that perfect Cape May memento, it’s becoming more like the store you’ve come to know and love over the past 46 years.
We encourage you all to take a peek, look around, maybe you’ll find some Mother’s Daytreasures, or a gift for someone celebrating a birthday in isolation, maybe it’s even some stationaryas this has been the perfect time to start letter writing again. We are working our best to fulfill orders quickly, keep things sanitized and add personalized notes to make gifts feel special.
The best way to stay up-to-date with our product offerings is via social media by following along with our Instagramand Facebookaccounts.
We're also offering a special closure promotion - for every $50 in gift cards bought online, we'll include an extra $10 thank you card. Cards can be used at Splash or the Whale's Tale; they do not expire or depreciate in value.
Even if you don’t find things from us, we do encourage you to Shop Small as much as possible. Our Cape May friends and neighbors are all facing the same challenges. Supporting small businesses keeps your money at home in the community with families instead of overseas or with billionaire CEOs.
Hopefully, as a community, we can come through this stronger. Let’s donate to food pantries, help our elderly neighbors and be kind to one another. There is light at the end of this tunnel.
Hard to believe it’s been a month since we closed the stores. Once this is behind us, we hope you’ll all choose to shop small and buy local as much as possible to help small businesses pull through and to keep your hard earned dollars in communities instead of with conglomerates. We thank everyone for their curbside, delivery and website orders - you have no idea how much your support means to us. And above all, we hope that everyone can stay healthy and stay positive through these troubling times. In the meantime, we wait.
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED. WE WILL UPDATE YOU WHEN A NEW DATE HAS BEEN CHOSEN. THANK YOU!

As a small, independent business we believe in being socially and environmentally aware, as well as being active members of our community. Your patronage allows us to engage in annual community outreach, education, as well as partnerships with local non-profits. We hope you'll remember us this Small Business Saturday (November 30th), and if you're not able to be in Cape May on the day we encourage you to visit our website and to Shop Small in your own neighborhood.
